Now, football fans can reap the same benefits with a plant-powered Super Bowl menu!

Super Bowl Sunday is the second biggest food consumption day of the year, behind only Thanksgiving. Throughout the course of the day, Americans typically eat 1.25 billion chicken wings and 4 million pizzas. That’s bad news for our health: Wings, cheesy pizza, and other high-fat fare will cause an average fan’s triglycerides (a measure of fat in the bloodstream) to increase by 60 percent by halftime and 150 percent before the night is over. By the end of the game, blood flow to the heart can decrease by more than half.
