Peas, which are legumes, have been shown to improve heart health and type 2 diabetessatisfy hunger better than meat, and benefit environmental health.

Plentiful Plant Protein

One cup of frozen peas is loaded with about 8 grams of healthy plant protein! Research shows that replacing animal protein with plant protein, like that found in peas, can reduce the risk of early death and lead to a longer life.

Full of Fiber

There are also about 7 grams of fiber in a cup of frozen peas. Fiber helps with digestion, weight loss, heart health, and cancer prevention. You should aim for 40 grams of fiber a day. Peas contain both soluble fiber, which helps lower cholesterol, and insoluble fiber, which acts like a broom, cleaning your digestive tract.
