Food for Life

2025 FFL Impact Report

Food for Life has been a pioneer in advancing a culinary medicine approach to prevent and reverse chronic disease since 2001. Our community-based classes are designed by physicians, nurses, and dietitians, and they deliver the scientific research supporting the power of food to improve health. Class participants learn why the food on their plate reduces their risk for diseases like diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and obesity, and they take away cooking skills and resources to put it all into everyday practice.

Read our full Community Impact Report below for a recap of our 2024 work, including highlights from our new grant program, our work with organizational partners, success stories from class participants, and our vision for 2025.

Steph Goettge, participant in Food for Life classes delivered by Jill and Joel Erickson of St. Paul, Minn.

I found out about the class through my employer, and it was almost a serendipitous moment, because it was right around the same time as my type 2 (diabetes) diagnosis …. I thought it was quite amazing how quickly my body responded when I gave it the right fuel. I was actually reversing my type 2 diabetes just by changing what was on my plate. I was rewriting my health story.
