Shell Point Retirement Community
Food for Life Institution
Founded in 1968 by The Christian and Missionary Alliance, Shell Point Retirement Community grew out of a pastor’s dream and a generous gift: businessman Berry C. Williams donated a 75-acre waterfront island in Fort Myers, Florida for the project. It started with two residents, retired missionaries and has become one of the largest single-site Life Plan communities in the country. Today it is home to about 2,500 residents and 1,100 employees.
Shell Point sits on the Caloosahatchee River near Sanibel and is run as a nonprofit. It offers independent living, assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing. Resident’s can enjoy a championship golf course, a marina, restaurants, arts and fitness centers, pickle ball courts, and miles of waterfront trails. The community is still guided by its founding values of compassion, service and faith. It continues to set the standard for retirement living in Southwest Florida.
Serving cities and surrounding areas of Areas served are the independent dining venues, Palm Grill, Blend Cafe and Lindy’s Cafe.
