Plant-Based Diet Associated With Reduced Inflammation
Inflammation, while beneficial for responding to acute injury, is damaging when chronic and can contribute to diseases like heart disease and diabetes. New research has analyzed the data from seven studies comparing the connection between plant-based diets and inflammation. The findings show that C-reactive protein, a blood measurement of inflammation, was significantly lower among those following a plant-based diet.
