Introduction to How Foods Fight Cancer
Tuesday, February 24, 2026 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM

This introductory class explores how the foods rooted in African American culinary heritage can play a powerful role in cancer prevention and overall health. We’ll examine the science behind how whole, plant-based foods help protect the body by reducing inflammation, supporting the immune system, and promoting cellular health.

You will learn how traditional ingredients—such as leafy greens, beans, whole grains, herbs, spices, fruits, and vegetables—have long been used in our communities for nourishment and healing. We’ll connect cultural foodways with modern nutrition research, highlighting practical, delicious ways to prepare meals that support cancer-fighting pathways in the body.
