New Navigator Tool Aims to Replace Animal Use in Drug Development

Study in a Sentence: The newly launched Non-Animal NavigatorTM helps biopharmaceutical companies adopt optimal nonanimal strategies by leveraging predictive simulation, data-driven modeling, and AI tailored to drug discovery and development, in alignment with the FDA’s Roadmap to Reducing Animal Testing in Preclinical Safety Studies.

Healthy for Humans: With thousands of monoclonal antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates currently in preclinical development, innovative approaches that are predictive, efficient, and ethical are urgently needed. Scientifically robust new approach methodologies, like AI-enabled biosimulation modeling can guide safer, faster, and more cost-effective drug development, without the use of animals. The Non-Animal NavigatorTM provides structured, science-forward support to academic institutions, regulatory agencies, and drug developers in applying nonanimal methodologies to human-focused research.

Redefining Research: This tool marks a significant step in integrating nonanimal new approach methodologies within the research and regulatory frameworks of drug discovery and development. By combining virtual trials, pharmacokinetic modeling, and strategic planning, it can help reshape the future of drug development toward methods that are more humane, scientifically rigorous, and clinically relevant.
