Vegetarian Diet Advantageous Over Animal-Based Diet for Kidney Disease
Patients with chronic kidney disease often require a low-protein diet, and the type of protein may be important for preventing inflammation and malnutrition. A recent study found that plant-based protein out-performed diets with animal-based protein by improving kidney function, creatinine levels, blood sugar control, body fat and waist size in patients with kidney disease.
