Plant-Based Protein Supports Healthy Aging

Protein is an important nutrient for healthy aging, but plant-based protein is most beneficial according to a new study. Using data from the Nurses’ Health Study, female nurses over the age of 60 who ate more protein had fewer chronic diseases, better mental health, and fewer cognitive and physical impairments. Plant-based protein had the greatest effect, while animal-based protein had far less of an effect.
