The Lancet Takes on Meat

People should limit their meat intake for their health and for the health of the environment, according to a new editorial published in The Lancet. The authors highlight current ideas for curbing meat consumption including taxing meat products, but they explain a broader approach might be more effective, including addressing farming subsidies and processing methods and changing consumer habits through thoughtful conversations. They caution that such efforts need to happen soon for the sake of the planet and people.
