Butter Associated With Increased Risk of Death From All Causes
Research from more than 220,000 people followed for up to 33 years found that consuming approximately 1 tablespoon of butter each day was associated with a 15% higher risk of all-cause mortality compared with those consuming essentially none. Higher butter intake was also associated with an increased risk of cancer. While those who consumed approximately 1.5 to 2 tablespoons of plant oils had a 16% lower risk of all-cause mortality, as well as a lower risk of cancer and cardiovascular disease.
