Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ Financial Ties with Corporations Exposed

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ (AND) financial ties with food and pharmaceutical corporations were exposed in an article published in Public Health Nutrition. AND has received financial contributions from the American Egg Board, the National Dairy Council, the Nebraska Beef Council, and many other companies, raising questions about whether AND health policies have been influenced by corporate contributions.

In response, AND released a statement holding that its guidelines for accepting funding from private companies prevent undue industry influence.
