Karina Pearse

Food for Life Instructor

Karina Pearse

Karina began her path to a plant-based lifestyle after reading Dr. Campbell's book, The China Study, in 2004. The book's focus on plants for disease prevention made sense, and Karina hoped that by removing dairy and eating more whole plant foods, she would free her family in the short-term from asthma and sinus infections, and protect them in the long-term from heart disease and other common chronic illnesses. Karina was inspired by the profound and swift changes in these areas and more, and went on to work for the Whole Foods Market's "Health Starts Here" and Wellness Club programs.

In 2012, she became an instructor for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine's Food for Life program (FFL) and was certified in plant-based nutrition from the Center for Nutrition Studies. She later joined Ethos Primary Care and became a national board-certified and ACLM-certified Health and Wellness coach. Karina holds an MS in Organizational Development from the Stevens Institute of Technology School of Management. She enjoys teaching FFL classes for the Cancer Support Community of NJ, and several healthcare and engineering companies.
