Food for Life Instructor
Deanna has always been interested in the role of lifestyle in disease prevention and treatment, which led her to completing a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree. She spent several years working as a fitness consultant and exercise therapist in rehabilitation clinics, until taking a long hiatus from her career to raise and homeschool her four children. During these years, her interest in nutrition increased as she aimed to meet the nutritional needs of her growing family. After discovering the science supporting a whole food, plant based diet, she adopted this way of eating, and experienced the health benefits firsthand. In addition to being a certified Food for Life instructor, she has completed the Forks Over Knives Ultimate Home Chef cooking course, as well as the Plant Based Professional cooking certification through Rouxbe Culinary School. The skills she learned through these courses made it possible for her to whole-heartedly commit to, enjoy, and promote whole food, plant-based nutrition.
