Carolyn Hartfield

Food for Life Instructor

Carolyn Hartfield

I have transitioned through the years from omnivore, pescatarian, vegetarian and for the past several years, I am now vegan / whole foods, plant-based. I am very happy to report that at age 75, I am no longer on any prescription drugs for high blood pressure or high cholesterol, of which many chronic diseases run in my family, including diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease and obesity.

I have learned that while I may be pre-disposed to some chronic diseases, I am a believer there is something to be said about environment, the choices I have made, and how I manage my lifestyle.  When I go to my primary care doctor, she tells me she wants to be like me when she gets to be my age!  I love it!

Having been a health food stores owner/operator, after being introduced to Food for Life, a program of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, I continue to learn so very much and have firsthand experience of how little changes can lead to big results!  I am such a believer in this program, I became one of their trained and licensed instructors so I could share my knowledge, plus present cooking demos.

I now consider myself as someone who is

"Highly Seasoned and Savoring in the Spices of Life!”

Join me, and tell your family and friends, to help me pass this great life changing news forward!
