This six-week nutrition and cooking series centers culturally familiar, soul-inspired foods to support healthier eating within the African American community. Through guided discussion and cooking demonstrations, participants learn how everyday food choices influence weight, heart health, blood sugar, and cancer risk, while discovering how plant-based meals can support long-term wellness without restriction or loss of tradition. Each class highlights practical meal ideas, from nourishing breakfasts and lunches to family-style dinners, cookout dishes, and holiday favorites, showing how flavor, fullness, and health can coexist. The program emphasizes realistic planning strategies so participants leave with the knowledge and confidence to sustain these habits at home, at work, while traveling, and during special occasions.
