Foods for a Healthy Heart

This class will arm participants with the knowledge and practical skills to bolster heart health through simple diet and lifestyle changes. Topics addressed include cardiovascular risk factors, such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol, with recipes and nutrition strategies for improving or reversing these conditions.  The class will guide participants toward healthier low-fat plant-based diets that  have been shown to reduce the incidence of strokes and heart attacks. 

 

The class features a cooking demonstration of delicious, health-promoting dishes, along with handouts of easy and affordable recipes participants can prepare at home.

 

 Featured recipes include: Lemon-Berry Pancakes, White Bean Dip and Quinoa Salad with Soy/Orange Dressing.
