This class draws from the popular book Your Body in Balance: The New Science of Food, Hormones, and Health by Neal Barnard, MD, FACC. 

Medical research suggests that plant-based foods can help conquer moodiness and have an impact on more serious mood problems such as anxiety and depression. Studies show a significant improvement with a plant-based diet, due to its anti-inflammatory properties and high fiber content. 

A short video segment by medical professionals will present research on the effectiveness of a plant-based diet in improving one’s mood. Attend this class to learn how simple changes to what you eat can improve your health and overall quality of life. 

The class features a hands-on cooking demonstration, along with handouts of easy and affordable recipes participants can prepare at home.

This class is open to the public as well as Capital District YMCA members. Everyone is welcome.
