Thursday, October 2, 2025 2:00pm to 3:30pm

All are welcome to attend

Certain Diet patterns seem to have a major effect in helping people diagnosed with cancer to live longer healthier lives.

In this class, you will learn about the right food choices that can help reduce the risk of developing cancer as well as prevent recurrence. We will watch a short video, make Easy Bean Salad, Black Bean Dip, Veggies in a Blanket and have a sampling of Non-Dairy milks & Cheeses.

This Food for Life class is being held in conjunction with the Michigan Let's Beat Breast Cancer Rally, October 1, 2025, at the Village at the Grand Traverse Commons Village Piazza at Noon.  We are raising awareness for October's Breast Cancer Awareness month, and we don't want to miss a day! Come to the Rally on Wednesday and attend the class on Thursday!

The four steps of the Let’s Beat Breast Cancer campaign are:

  • Eat plant-based foods
  • Exercise regularly
  • Avoid alcohol
  • Aim for an ideal weight
