We are celebrating Men's Health Month in June with a nutrition and cooking series specific to men's health issues. We are encouraging men to take charge of their health by making healthier lifestyle choices to prevent disease. In the United States, heart disease and cancer are top among the leading causes of death in men. In addition, 40% of men live with obesity, 52% live with hypertension. Research shows that plant-based eating can help men of all ages, to prevent and survive all of these diseases and live vibrantly.
Class #1 will provide insight into the best plant-based foods and nutrients to power athletic performance and physical activity. Participants will learn dietary strategies to reduce inflammation and support recovery outcomes.
Class #2 will focus on how foods affect the blood vessels that lead to erectile dysfunction and heart disease.
Class #3 provides information on foods that can help reduce the risk of prostate cancer and can help improve survival if you have prostate cancer.
Each class features a cooking demonstration of 3 delicious, health-promoting dishes, along with handouts of easy and affordable recipes participants can prepare at home.
