Food for Life: Kids Health
Windsor Community Recreation Center
250 11th St,
Windsor, CO 80550
Poor diet and lack of exercise put today’s children at greater risk for heart disease, diabetes, and cancer later in life. A foundation for healthy eating is needed to lessen the risk for chronic diseases. The curriculum highlights the positives of the four food groups (whole grains, legumes, fruits, and vegetables) in the Power Plate. This is nutrition and cooking camp where kids will learn to cook some healthy recipes in each class. All recipes are vegetarian-vegan friendly. A consent form is required and is available at the time of the event. CLASS TOPICS: Bang-Up Breakfasts, In-between Meals and Sweeter Deals, Rainbow Lunches, Digging These Dinners.
