Introduction to How Foods Fight Cancer

Research from the National Cancer Institute shows that as much as 33% of cancer risk may be related to diet. Plant-based diets seem to have a major effect in helping people prevent cancer and to help those diagnosed with cancer live longer, healthier lives. In this class, you will learn about specific food choices that can help reduce the risk of developing cancer as well as prevent a recurrence.

 

In this ONLINE Food for Life: How Foods Fight Cancer class, you will learn strategies for preventing cancer through making health-promoting meals. This class features a science-based nutrition video, an interactive discussion led by a health and wellness expert, and the opportunity to view 3 cooking demonstrations. Recipes include Easy Bean Salad; Veggies in a Blanket; and Black Bean Dip with Baked Tortilla Chips. There will be ample time for questions and answers. You will leave this class with a clear understanding of how food is medicine!

 

Once registered, you will receive a ZOOM link and handouts a day or two before the class begins.
