Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. Research shows a plant-based diet doesn’t just prevent heart disease, but it can manage and sometimes even reverse it. Although family genes may play a role, we now know they don’t hold all the cards. Eating habits and other lifestyle factors play a key role in determining your risk of heart disease, as well as other chronic diseases. In this class, you’ll learn how eating a diet rich in whole food vegetables, fruits, grains, and legumes, can help lower cholesterol, blood pressure, and weight. You’ll also get to see cooking demonstrations of three plant-based dishes that you’ll be able to easily make at home, along with additional resources to help you continue your journey to good cardiovascular health.
