Class Dates

Designing a Diet for Maximum Weight Control
Wednesday, December 9, 2020 6:00 PM CST to 7:15 PM CST

Diabetes is a major public health problem of epidemic proportions, but we can eat to beat it!

Class 6: Keeping A Healthy Heart

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in people who have diabetes. Fortunately, the same change in diet that has been shown to be so effective in turning diabetes around also helps to protect the heart, quite dramatically. Dean Ornish, M.D., was among the first to show that a change in lifestyle could be as effective as and much safer than bypass surgery for those with significant heart disease. There is no time like the present to eat to live. Fortunately, food that is good for you does not have to taste like medicine. In this class, you’ll sample cholesterol-free foods that are full of flavor and health-promoting benefits.

In this 75 minute class attendees will learn the benefits of a whole food plant based lifestyle and its surprising effect on our health and longevity. Each class includes * NEW RECIPES* live cooking demonstrations with Stefanie's in depth knowledge on plant-based nutrition, preventing and reversing diseases along with useful handouts, recipes, and Q & A, all in a supportive online group setting.

Recipes are designed to work for people on a budget who may also have minimal time or access to equipment. More importantly, every class supports a low-fat, high fiber plant-based diet that has been proven to prevent, manage, and in some cases reverse chronic diseases such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, autoimmune disease, kidney disease and more.
