We all know that exercise is important for health. But, did you know that the foods you eat can help you maintain optimal fitness? Whether you move for recreation and fun or if you are a competitive athlete, the foods you eat matter. Plant-based or vegan foods have many benefits for all-levels of athletes. This 2.5-hour class developed by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine aims to empower attendees with the knowledge and skills needed to prepare simple, nutritious meals that fuel optimal fitness and recovery. This class includes cooking demonstrations of plant-based dishes made from commonly found ingredients; a nutrition lecture; shopping advice and cooking tips; and lots of informational handouts sent via email.
