Health is our greatest and most essential asset!
No matter where you are you in the US, you are under some kind of “STAY” order put in place to protect your health due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the time that we are in, doing what is essential is of the utmost priority; wearing masks, practicing social distancing, washing our hands frequently and limiting our comings and goings.
While no one is exempt from COVID-19, the CDC has reported that that the African American, Latina and Indigenous populations are more susceptible to becoming severely ill and having poorer outcomes. The same has been reported as true for people of any age with certain underlying medical conditions such as: diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease immune disorders and obesity. Persons with high blood pressure, smokers and asthma may also be at higher risk.
The CDC has established that good nutrition is essential for keeping Americans healthy across the lifespan. A healthy diet helps children grow and develop properly and reduces their risk of chronic diseases, including obesity. Adults who eat a healthy diet live longer and have a lower risk of obesity, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and certain cancers. Healthy eating can help people with chronic diseases manage these conditions and prevent complications (https://www.cdc.gov/chronicdisease/resources/publications/factsheets/nutrition.htm).
Nutrition is about eating a balanced diet which provides the nutrients needed to sustain health, support the immune system and generate energy. Plant foods are rich in nutrients.
AAAAH Health is a two part series of classes that focuses on optimal nutrition because “We Gotta Stay Strong”
Note the cost of the class is your wonderful presence on one or two beautiful, sunny, summer Sunday afternoons; July 12th and July 19th.
Look forward to seeing ya'
