Cooking to Combat COVID-19: How Foods Fight Diabetes
Thursday, June 11, 2020 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Cooking To Combat COVID-19, a new online campaign from the Physicians Committee’s Food for Life program, is designed to help participants use a plant-based diet to fight hypertension, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and obesity—which are among the conditions that can make COVID-19 more severe and deadly.

Using Food to Fight Diabetes is class two in a four-class series. The road to diabetes does not have to be a one-way street. There is reason for hope! People who eat plant-based meals are less likely to ever develop diabetes, and for those who have diabetes, plant-based meals can help to improve blood sugar levels and prevent complications. Learn how to create a healthy, yet tasty meal to help you prevent or maybe even reverse diabetes.

This virtual cooking and nutrition education class includes:

  • Research-based nutrition and health information
  • A whole-food, plant-based cooking demo
  • Digital educational resources and recipes
  • A supportive community

The price for a single class is $20. However, you can join the series and SAVE! Take all four classes in this series for only $60.
