Your thyroid gland regulate's your body's use of energy. If it is not producing enough hormones (hypothyroidism), you will feel sluggish. If it overproducing hormones (hyperthyroidism), you may feel revved up with a rapid pulse and other symptoms. In the United States, the main cause of thyroid problems is the autoimmune system creating antibodies that attack the thyroid gland. There is evidence that those who follow a plant-based diet, void of meat and dairy, are significantly less likely to get thyroid problems. There are also individuals whose hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism have disappeared after switching to a plant-based diet. This class will set you on the right foot for following a healthful, plant-based diet with simple, yet delicious recipes for the whole family.
