Every day preventative measures —such as hand washing, avoiding contact with individuals who are ill, and good hygiene can go a long way in reducing your risk for viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens.
In addition, however, there is evidence that nutrition and other lifestyle measures influence immune strength and susceptibility to infectious diseases. Eating a low-fat, plant-based diet may help give the immune system a boost.
In this class you will learn what foods help boost the immune system, you will view a video lecture, and watch a cooking demonstration by Food for Life Instructor Susannah Dickman. Participants will receive handouts and recipes.
