Start 2020 right by eating more plants. Plant-based foods can help you prevent or manage your prediabetes and diabetes But, many people struggle with how to get more plants into their diets. The “DIABETES INITIATIVE – Plant-based Cooking & Nutrition Class” will teach you the health-promoting benefits of plants, and a practical and easy approach to eating more plants. Four recipes will be demonstrated for you that were created by culinary experts and use commonly available ingredients, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and beans. These recipes are simple to make and easy to incorporate into your routine. This class follows the science-based Food for Life program developed by the Physicians Committee For Responsible Medicine, and is taught by Granetta Coleman, a certified Food for Life Instructor and owner of Rooted Dish.
