Developed by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine and taught all over the world, the Food for Life: Kickstart Your Health Introductory class helps us connect our food choices to how we can not only lose weight, but slow, stop and even reverse many health concerns. For some people, it's the first time the idea of not restricting amounts of food, but rather choosing the right food, has been the guiding principle for losing weight and staying healthy. Lower cholesterol, better disease control, lower blood pressure, as well as improvements in energy and mood are some of the many benefits people experience on this diet. In addition we will go deeper into our food choices to explore food cravings. Even those enjoying a mostly healthy diet can learn strategies to avoid tempting unhealthy foods and food behaviors.
The 3 hour class offers a chance to discover which foods are optimal for weight management, learn about various health topics including blood pressure and digestion, and get empowered with the practical cooking skills needed to help you on your journey to better health and learn some strategies to make better food choices. Attendees do all of this while enjoying a cooking demonstration and tasting delicious, healthful dishes in a supportive setting.
