Join Progressive Health of Delaware registered dietitian, Karen Smith, for a fun, interactive, and unique nutrition and cooking program to learn about the critical role food plays in reducing cancer risk. You will discover what foods have been shown to greatly reduce cancer risk as well as foods to avoid given their ability to promote cancer growth (or even cause cancer). The same foods that prevent cancer also promote weight loss, lower blood pressure and lipid levels, and reduce the risk of and even reverse type 2 diabetes. Each class includes demonstrations of how to prepare several tasty dishes with high-fiber and low-fat foods loaded with antioxidants and phytochemicals. Tastings of all foods prepared are provided. Classes also provide information on how to replace dairy and meat with delicious and healthy alternatives. The 4-class series is $119. You may also register for individual classes for $30 per class. Classes are Monday evenings, 1/7, 1/14, 1/21, and 1/28, from 6:30 - 7:45 pm.

Parking is provided. After turning onto Whitby Drive from Concord Pike, turn right into the large parking lot across from the main church entrance. Classes are in the parish hall. Enter through the main church doors.
