Pritesh Mutha, MD

Currently, Dr. Mutha is an associate professor and director of Third Space Endoscopy Program at UT health. He is triple board-certified in interventional endoscopist/gastroenterologist (ABIM-GI), internal medicine (ABIM), and lifestyle medicine (DIpABLM).

Dr. Mutha earned his medical degree from Grant Medical College in Mumbai, India, followed by a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from UT Health. He completed his internal medicine residency from UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside in Pittsburgh, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology from VCU Health Science Center in Richmond, Va. He stayed on as a faculty and advance endoscopist at McGuire VA Medical Center and VCUHS for seven years before moving to Houston, Texas.

Besides his expertise in innovative and cutting-edge treatment modalities of esophageal, gastric, pancreatobiliary, and intestinal diseases, Dr. Mutha is very passionate about treating, controlling, and reversing gastrointestinal illness via diet and lifestyle modifications. Additionally, with his background in research, his work has been presented at national and international conferences and published in renowned medical journals. His most recent paper is currently in press, entitled "Diet and Stomach Cancer."
