Dr. Mark Stephany is a board-certified internal medicine physician, having practiced hospital-based medicine for nearly 10 years. During that time, he had the sense that more could be done for his patients. He kept seeing people return to the hospital with the same medical issues that he was not able to fix despite the best therapy available. Dr. Stephany recognized that addressing the root causes of these conditions, namely lifestyle choices, needed to be a part of how he practiced medicine.

During this time, Dr. Stephany looked at his own lifestyle choices and how they were affecting his life and the way he practiced medicine. Subsequently, he became a certified diplomate in the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Along with his colleague Dr. James Kosowicz, Dr. Stephany started Sound Lifestyle Medicine, a virtual medical coaching service that provides custom lifestyle medical solutions for individuals looking to improve their health and well-being.
