Dr. O'Neil has been interested in health ever since she was a teenager and chose a career in medicine. Unfortunately, after going through medical school, completing residency, and working in the emergency room, she realized that our medical system is good at treating illnesses temporarily but not for the long-term. She has seen patients come into the emergency room for years with the same chronic medical problems that never seem to improve. A few years ago, she started working at the Ekahi Ornish Reversal Program in Honolulu and saw a lot of positive changes in patients in just 10 weeks of lifestyle changes. This realization inspired her to investigate more about lifestyle medicine. She recently became board-certified in, and is transitioning to, lifestyle medicine.
