Nutrition Educator – Hybrid Role in Washington, D.C.

Seeking a nutrition educator with an understanding of the health benefits of a plant-based diet and at least five years of experience to join a Washington, D.C., nonprofit that promotes a plant-based diet. A master’s degree in nutrition or public health, registered dietitian credential, and/or Spanish language skills are a plus.

We have contributed to the elimination of the “meat group” in federal nutrition guidelines, carried out clinical research studies that have revolutionized the treatment of diabetes, and provided the scientific foundation for the health benefits of plant-based diets. We aim to propel continued progress through direct patient care, nutrition education, and advocacy. 

About this Career Opportunity 

The nutrition educator will promote a plant-based diet to health professionals, the public and government through education programs, medical outreach, clinical research, literature reviews, advocacy, and media channels. This will include managing and teaching online classes, teaching diet education in conjunction with clinical research studies, serving as a media spokesperson on plant-based nutrition and helping advance related campaigns. 

This is a full-time position based that regularly requires some work to be performed at our headquarters in Washington, D.C. (Friendship Heights on Metro’s Red Line). Some work can be performed remotely from a location proximate to the office if desired. The position also occasionally requires attending events that require travel and evening or weekend work.

We are looking for a nutrition educator with an understanding of the health benefits of a plant-based diet and at least five years of experience. A master’s degree in nutrition or public health, registered dietitian credential, and/or Spanish language skills are a plus. This position requires strong research, writing, and speaking skills.
