Vinaya is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Alabama. She takes pride in working with the geriatric population with neurogenic disorders such as dementia and stroke.
As a speech therapist working with the ageing population, Vinaya noticed that people worked hard all their lives only to throw away their life-long savings on numerous expensive pharmaceutical and surgical interventions, while still consuming foods that aggravated their chronic conditions. She realized that in order to facilitate a change at the grass-roots level, it is important to create awareness about the link between nutrition and good health. In February 2018, Vinaya completed Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate, eCornell and T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies and Plant-Based Professional Certificate from Rouxbe Culinary School.
As an active member of the local Redstone Toastmasters Club, Vinaya enjoys connecting with her audiences through informative, engaging and entertaining presentations. She uses her platform to promote awareness about numerous issues including Alabama health status, whole foods plant-based diet, environmental issues and animal rights issues.
Vinaya is an involved member of her community and often organizes vegan potlucks, structured discussion groups, and documentary screenings. Vinaya volunteers for Madison Animal Rescue Foundation and she is also a foster mom for felines of all shapes and sizes. Along with maintaining a part-time job and a full-time business, Vinaya takes joy in taking care of her family that consists of her husband and two canine companions- Neo and Trixie!
