Sheela Shah, PT, DPT
Food for Life Instructor
Sheela spent her childhood playing soccer, pulling all-nighters at slumber parties, and eating Indian vegetarian foods. Fast forward, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion from the University of Georgia and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Georgia State University. In 2020, her husband’s health journey motivated her to adopt a vegan lifestyle. In the same year, she broke her arm and found healing through an emphasis on personal well-being. Sheela currently works in the hospital setting, specializing in acute-care, treating patients post organ transplants. Her passion lives at the intersection of physical therapy and the role of nutrition on functional mobility for patients with chronic illness. She embraces food as medicine and empowers others to do the same. Sheela is excited to be a FFL instructor and teach others the joy of cooking. She also enjoys long nature walks, strength training, painting, reading, and traveling.
