Joan Stephenson

Food for Life Instructor

Joan is a wife mother and grandmother. She became plant-based on May 15, 2016, after her husband's doctor determined that he was at high risk for a heart attack. That same day Joan and her husband purchased the book Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease by Caldwell Esselstyn Jr., M.D. and immediately cleared their kitchen of all animal products. Within one month of adopting a plant-based diet Joan's husband's cholesterol dropped 50 points with no medication. Joan and her husband eat well more than ever before, not skimpy portions. Joan wishes that they had known about this always. They no longer get sick, wake up feeling great, look younger and have lost over 125 lbs. together without even trying. Joan now wants to share this with the world. Joan's professional career has included work in the service industry, in middle and high school education, restaurant management and nursing.
