This is a one session free class that will review how to jump start your goal of losing and maintaining healthy long-term weight loss. Many programs can assist you with losing weight but how do you maintain the loss?
In this course: Mark Cerkvenik and Sharmila Veda - PCRM licensed Food For Life Instructors and board members of PBNM will co-facilitate this session and will be joined by 2 additional additional PBNM board members - Karen Bender and Joan Davis who as a group have over 20 years experience thriving on a whole-food plant-based diet.
By the end of the event, you will be able to:
- Describe a diet that is associated with the healthiest weight.
- Explain how dietary fiber tricks the brain, improving satiety.
- List foods that are high in dietary fiber.
- State the calories in one gram of carbohydrate compared to one gram of fat.
- List high-fat plant-based foods to avoid.
- Describe healthy low-fat cooking methods.
- Explain how a low-fat, plant-based eating pattern increases the after meal “calorie burn”.
Attendees will receive, recipes, tips on achieving and maintaining a healthy weight and valuable supportive resources they can access free of charge from the comfort of their own home!
