A Nurses Nutrition Network  Conversation with Erin Sinnaeve, DNP, FNP-C

Join the Nurses Nutrition Network for a conversation with special guest speaker Erin Sinnaeve, DNP, FNP-C, on the topic of Health Equity and the Role of Lifestyle Medicine.

Dr. Sinnaeve is a family nurse practitioner specializing in lifestyle medicine and allergy/immunology in the greater Chicagoland area. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska, her Master of Science from Creighton University, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Chamberlain University. She is an instructor at Chamberlain University, teaching graduate population health and epidemiology.

Dr. Sinnaeve is a Food Over Medicine instructor and a member of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM). She is the secretary for the Health Equity Achieved through Lifestyle Medicine (HEAL) member interest group through the ACLM. 

She works to support the development of new and the expansion of existing initiatives and partnerships to improve the health of patients and communities by promoting health equity through lifestyle medicine strategies. 

Conversation objectives:

  • Understand key terminology including health disparities, health equity/inequity, equality, and social determinants of health. 
  • Discuss the status health disparities in the U.S. and causes for mistrust in the health care system.
  • Understand shared language so we can provide care through a health equity lens.
  • Explain the importance of health equity and the efforts lifestyle medicine practitioners can take to achieve it. 

Our nurse hosts for the program are dedicated health advocates Tammy Robertson, RN, BSN, and Cody Stubbe, RN, MSN. All nurses are welcome! There is no charge to attend.
