Animal-Free Workshop Series for Early-Career Researchers

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine and Johns Hopkins Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing (CAAT) host this workshop series focused on animal-free new approach methods (NAMs) in research and testing. These free online workshops feature nonanimal research and career development presentations by experts from across industry, academia, government, and policy. Technology Showcases and Research Trainings

The Physicians Committee collaborates with academic and industry leaders to host in-person training events and technology showcases that highlight animal-free methods for biomedical research and regulatory testing. These events take place at conferences and on-site at different laboratory facilities. ERA21 Travel Award Winners Series

Through its ERA21 program, the Physicians Committee provides travel awards to support researchers using human-based nonanimal methods to present their work at conferences. This webinar series provides a platform for travel award winners to showcase their animal-free conference presentations from meetings like the World Congress on Alternatives and Animal Use in the Life Sciences, the Society of Toxicology Annual Meeting, and the Microphysiological Systems World Summit. ERA21 Journal Club

The ERA21 Journal Club meets at conferences and provides a forum for early-career scientists and undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students to meet and discuss relevant research articles on human-relevant biomedical research, toxicology, and policy.
