Thanks to our intervention, the city council in Alameda, Calif., voted down a proposal that would have built an animal experimentation facility on public property! The medical device company, Science Corp., was aiming to use the facility in Alameda to conduct experiments on mice, rabbits, and monkeys. This is a victory for animals and a win for science!
- The Physicians Committee provided more than 2,800 hours of training to regulators and industry scientists on nonanimal methods through our New Approach Methodology (NAM) Use for Regulatory Application (NURA) continuing education program.
- Physicians Committee scientists educated toxicologists on cruelty-free research methods at the Society of Toxicology Conference, one of the largest gatherings of toxicologists in the world. The recommendations presented were enthusiastically received.
