Summer Immersion on Innovative Approaches in Science

Attending conferences can be financially difficult for researchers. To make the Summer Immersion more accessible and help remove the financial barrier to education and training in human-based methods, the Physicians Committee’s ERA21 program offers travel awards. These awards are designed to support researchers using or interested in learning more about human-based nonanimal methods attend the Summer Immersion. 

Travel awards are available to undergraduate and graduate students and early-career scientists within eight years of receiving their PhD. Exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis, for example, if applicants are changing career directions.
