Phefelia Nez
Food for Life Instructor
Phefelia learned about plant-based eating from the benefits it provided her husband as an athlete. Her own benefits include weight loss, less fatigue, and more energy. She enjoys introducing her family to new recipes to support a healthful plant-based lifestyle.
Motivated by the benefits of plant-based eating, especially to prevent chronic illnesses, Phefelia became a licensed Food for Life Instructor through the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM). As former First Lady of the Navajo Nation and having partnered with PCRM with Native American outreach initiatives, she understands the need for plant-based nutrition education in Native American communities.
She now teaches in rural and urban Native American communities to inspire others to explore the benefits of whole-food, plant-based nutrition and empowers them to create simple, delicious meals. She shares the message that plants are our caretakers and protectors, bringing us nourishment and medicine, so we can live long healthy lives.
Serving cities and surrounding areas of Flagstaff, AZ; rural and/or urban Native American communities.
