While honoring the history of African American culinary traditions, this class is intended to inspire healthful eating for the purpose of preventing and arresting chronic diseases that disproportionately affect African Americans. This introductory class presents the Power Plate - the basis for learning how to journey towards a healthy and sustainable diet. The class features a cooking demonstration of delicious, health-promoting dishes, along with handouts of easy and affordable recipes that participants can prepare at home.
