Vegan athletes are leading in endurance sports and even weightlifting, but anyone who is active can benefit from a plant-based diet, especially as we age. A low-fat vegan diet comprising whole grains, legumes, fruits, and vegetables provides the ideal fuel for any physical activity. It also demonstrates qualities for enhanced recovery over high-fat and animal-based diets. As we age, it is important to understand the role of healthy foods to stay active and support healthy bones. This class aims to empower attendees with the knowledge and skills needed to prepare simple, nutritious meals that fuel optimal fitness and recovery and build healthy bones with handouts and recipes.

In this class, attendees learn about nutrition while asking questions and enjoying cooking demonstrations. Recipes and handouts will be provided a few days prior to class. Pre-registration is required at least 24 hours in advance. Early Bird and Buddy Discounts are available.
