Join us as we celebrate Juneteenth and focus on the culture and traditions of the African American community. This curriculum provided by a licensed Food for Life instructor connects these ancestral ties and introduces plant-based adaptations of “soul” recipes. The conversation will center on the benefits of a plant-based diet. These recipes are healthier choices that address dietary related diseases that disproportionally impact the community.
The cooking demonstration will show how plant-based foods can be delicious, cost effective and play an important role in providing a healthier quality of life. Participants will receive handouts of easy and affordable recipes that can be prepared at home.
