Kim Williams Sr., M.D., serves as the immediate past president of the American College of Cardiology and is the James B. Herrick Endowed Professor of Medicine and Cardiology at Rush University Medical Center. Dr. Williams started the Urban Cardiology Initiative at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, a program of education of physicians on disparities in health care, primary school education on cardiovascular health, and community health screening in inner-city Detroit.

He has served on many committees and boards for the American Heart Association, the American Medical Association, the American College of Cardiology, and the Association of Black Cardiologists.
