INTRODUCTION TO HOW FOODS FIGHT DIABETES

While we cannot prevent or cure COVID-19 with the foods we eat, a plant-based diet does help us to improve health overall, boost our immunity, and decrease the risks of chronic health conditions. The "Cooking to Combat COVID-19" classes focus on how a plant-based diet can reduce the risks of Type 2 diabetes, heart disease and hypertension, cancer, and being overweight.

This class explains why a plant-based diet is effective in helping to manage diabetes and attain a healthy weight, thereby reducing your risks if you contract COVID-19. For those who have diabetes, low-fat, plant-based meals can help to improve blood sugar levels and prevent complications. Learn why these meals are affordable, delicious, and satisfying!

This class is 90 minutes in length and includes a short video segment with medical professionals, as well as a cooking demonstration with three recipes. You will receive the Zoom link plus all recipes and other educational materials via email. Take this class as a stand-alone session or take the 4-part "Cooking to Combat COVID-19" series for the best value (save $15 on the total cost).
